The New Era of Cybersecurity

As organizations around the world continue to trudge through the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, cybercriminals keep coming up with even more menacing ways of dragging them down. Organizations face a growing volume and sophistication of cyber threats:

  • Cybercrime is projected to cost the global economy $6.1 trillion in 2021.
  • This year, a cyber-attack incident is expected to occur every 11 seconds.
  • Google blocks more than 18 million malware and phishing emails related to COVID-19 every day.

The biggest stressors plaguing the modern security operations center in 2021 will be the usual suspects: Alert fatigue, false positives, growing attack surfaces, disparate detection tools, skills shortages, and manual and inconsistent processes.  Businesses can’t afford to take a reactive approach to protect the enterprise. Tomorrow’s leaders are making investments and taking proactive steps today.

The real challenge is not just preventing a cyber-attack, but discovering it’s occurred in the first place. It’s hard to believe but 65 percent of cyber-attacks go undetected by organizations today, and the average time to identify a breach is 206 days. By the time businesses realize they’ve been attacked it’s often too late to rebound from the impact of financial and reputational backlash.

Securing the enterprise has also become more complex with the emergence of IoT, Edge computing, endless security tools, a growing attack surface, and an increase in attack vectors. When you have more complexity, you have more risk.

As threats grow in number, they also become more advanced and harder to detect and mitigate. For most security teams, strong detection and response is a mission-critical pursuit that is often illusive. No matter how much you invest, there’s constantly a need for “one more layer” of security. Threats continue to increase in sophistication, the perimeter continues to expand, work habits continue to be challenged, and business resiliency needs to be prioritized more than ever. As the attack surface grows, detection gets harder, and dwell times go up, putting businesses at risk.

With the plethora of security tools available today, why isn’t the paradigm-shifting? Because most companies have solutions in place that were likely designed and rolled out in isolation, and they don’t natively integrate with one another in helpful ways. Since effectively defending against modern threats is predicated on gaining a complete-enough picture across all control points, having a patchwork of non-integrated point solutions simply doesn’t make the cut anymore.

Services are available to bring multiple different point solutions together, but they’re generally expensive. These siloed technologies prevent streamlined security processes and result in important decisions being made in isolation and with only a fraction of the available data.

You can’t fight what you can’t see – until now.

ForeNova brings a unique and holistic approach to threat detection and response - with the industry’s first unified command center designed to alleviate the challenges of too many vendors, too little integration, too little coordination, and too little time.

Visibility ranks among the top challenges facing security teams today - and increases the difficulty of detection; after all, you cannot defend against what you cannot see. Another significant concern with the lack of visibility stems from how quickly some advanced threats can shift from intrusive or disruptive to destructive.

ForeNova provides full visibility into enterprise-wide infrastructure activities, coupled with the ability to respond dynamically to help protect against advanced, persistent, and opportunistic threats, whether they come from outside or inside the organization.

According to Accenture’s 2020 Cybersecurity Report, with a more proactive security strategy in 2021, organizations can incur fewer breaches, identify security events faster and minimize attack damage more effectively and efficiently than those who wait for trends to take root.

ForeNova’s goal is simple: Visualize known and hidden threats from one window in less time with more accuracy using integrated threat intelligence, behavioral analysis, and AI models — so security teams can focus on the real threats to your business and stop chasing ghosts.

Coming this spring, ForeNova will be introducing a new unified command center, called NovaCommand, capable of stopping threats and reducing their impact by tightly orchestrating people, processes, and technology automation across the enterprise. By doing so, NovaCommand detects more threats and attacks and responds faster. This enables more efficient and effective security operations while lowering the overall total cost of ownership of the solutions they integrate.  Additional highlights include:

  • Dramatically shorten the response time while reducing the risk of data loss due to threats stemming from unintentional user errors or malicious theft and sabotage.
  • AI and machine learning make it easier and faster to find the root cause and chain of events comprising advanced persistent threats and insidious insider activity.
  • With the industry’s first true single pane of glass, NovaCommand gives organizations visibility across the ever-expanding IT landscape and attack surface.
  • Detect more hidden threats by leveraging existing security solutions combined with the latest intelligent threat detection and autonomous response capabilities.
